Employment History
I have worked as a senior educational technology consultant at the University of Minnesota's Digital Media Center. I've been fortunate to have held a number of interesting jobs.
- For previous decade (4/98-7/07), employed in various positions in School of Public Health, lastly as a Web Coordinator, Advancement Team.
- Was fortunate to be named to the University's inaugural I-Fellows group ; and served two years on the University's TEL Council.
- Served as a Tech Team Lead, and Coordinator, Digital Learning Group
- Flash programming and concept development on the multimedia CVD Epi History Project: http://www.epi.umn.edu/cvdepi
- Led a team that designed and developed several database-driven, interactive multimedia on-line course softwares.
- Designed, develop and maintained on-line web sites for the Division of Epidemiology. Coordinated University template installation on sites, as well as WebCT Vista conversion of classes.
- Designed and constructed on-line, distance-delivered courses, with supportive multimedia modules in Macromedia Flash.
- Served as project coordinator on two multimedia CD-ROMs, one for an on-line distance learning course, another on Freshman Survival Skills provided to incoming freshmen at the University of Minnesota. Supervised an incredibly talented staff of web-development, video and programming assistants, staff and student, who develop distance learning, web and multimedia projects.
- Supervised a database-driven faculty bio information schema in the Epi site, linked to research projects and a searchable Divisional publication citation database.
- Served as project manager for U of M Cancer Center site redesign, with special feature on Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation.
Heart Attack REACT Project Coordinator, 10/96-3/98; RA, 10/95-10/97
- Devised and wrote health education materials for a national public-education research project targeting delay time in heart attack response, including the program's media kit, speaker's guide, newspaper inserts, newsletters, and a web site. Coordinated low-literacy mailing and fulfillment, researched film clips and designed print materials for outreach.

- Columnist and Feature writer, Schools Magazine, Fall 1993-95
- Staff Writer/Film, St. Paul Pioneer Press, 5/88-6/93
- Contributed full-time film criticism as well as film-related features on actors, directors and film-industry news for this daily metropolitan newspaper.
- Film Critic, Los Angeles Herald Examiner, 8/84-4/88
- Editorial positions, Los Angeles Herald Examiner, 2/84-8/86 Wrote regular film criticism and film-related features for this daily metropolitan newspaper. Additionally, held three sequential previous editorial positions at the Herald-Examiner: Assigned and edited a Sunday supplement, a weekend entertainment/arts tabloid and the weekly TV guide
- Between 1978 and 1984, I worked in editorial positions at several magazines: I edited Wet Magazine in Venice, California, and worked as an associate editor at California Business Magazine and New West Magazine in Los Angeles.
